Our much loved Guinea Pig very suddenly developed a male mammary gland condition that appeared to be worrying. After calling their reception team to ask for help I was met with nothing but genuine warmth and concern for my little guy, she was such a lovely lady. We saw a really lovely Vet who was named a Guinea Pig lover, so I knew we’d be looked after. As soon as she saw his little problem, we told exactly what needed to be done to solve it, so we booked him in for surgery. He had the operation a few days later and I cannot thank this fantastic team of people enough! You’ve saved our boys little life. He means everything to us and you’ve given him the opportunity to continue his beautiful life. I would highly recommend JP vets, especially for Guinea Pigs who most definitely need a Veterinary Clinic who know what they’re doing! Thank you so so much xx

Was recommended this place for my poorly pet rat Mitzy. She was checked over & given some antibiotics due to a hooting sound & being lethargic. She’s made a full recovery & is now back to her usual self. Thank you so so much. Would highly recommend!

This is very late, but on Saturday 23/11/24, it was later in the evening and I saw a seagull with their right wing completely broken and upside down, being dragged behind him whilst he tried every little marking on the road and pavement for food. With help of a man, I was able to grab him and took my jumper off to wrap him up and make the wing a little more comfortable. I got into my car, but my phone was on 2% 🤦🏻‍♀️ because it was later in the evening, there weren’t many vets open, and I’ve had issues before where places have refused to take in injured pigeons and have been incredibly rude about it. I rang a line and the lady told me straight away where I could take the seagull, about 30 mins away, but my petrol light was also flashing 🤣 She also told me to wear gloves for hygiene and safety, but I didn’t have my emergency box in the car and the seagull had already bitten me multiple times until he realised I was helping him. I understand bird flu, and personally, I detest seagulls, but I’ll help any animal big or small, no life deserves to live in pain; I’m disabled and it’s pure agony every single day. I put the seatbelt round us both, and with my 2%, I prayed it would last until I got to the vet’s, but unfortunately it died when I was almost there. It was dark at this point and nobody was on the roads until I finally found an AA van and he pointed where to go (thank you so much AA). Anywho, I walked into the vets and they were so lovely and took me straight through to a room where I asked for some water for the seagull. They were quite shocked he was so calm lol I sat for a while with them on my lap and I was scratching his head and he started falling asleep. He was desperate for the water and drank loads. A vet came in and told me they were going to do some tests and see if they could fix his wing which I was incredibly grateful for. Obviously he warned me that if they couldn’t, he’d unfortunately be put to sleep due to him needing his wings to survive and it wouldn’t be fair releasing him to die slowly without him able to get food and water. He did have mites running through his feathers that I could see when scratching his head which the vet obviously expected. He started trying to bite them when I handed him over 🤣 a lovely lady at reception thankfully brought out a charger for me to charge my phone for 10 minutes so I could find my way home. All staff were really nice, kind, passionate and caring. The fact that they didn’t judge or discriminate just because it was a seagull like many other places do. They took him in straight away AND wanted to help him and try all they could beforehand. I’m extremely grateful and impressed by their willingness to help, even for animals others call vermin and look down on. You can see the love for animals, and THAT is a place I’d trust with my own animals. THANK YOU Jacqui Paterson’s Vets for trying!

Lovely vets. Easy to get to, ample parking, and reasonably priced. Love the fact they have separate waiting rooms for dogs and cats/small animals. Makes waiting for your appointment less stressful and quieter for both your pets and their owners.

My girls have been registered with Jacqui Paterson's for two years now, they are amazing. We pay for the monthly membership and they've just been for their annual and the reception staff and vet couldn't be nicer. Always answer the phone and call you back promptly if you need support. Keep up the fab work!
