Tees Vets is described by reviewers as an independent practice (one owner explicitly contrasts it with “rip-off corporate vets”). Based on the cases mentioned, it appears set up for routine preventive care (vaccinations, check-ups, blood tests) as well as in-house treatment and surgery for some conditions without referral. Specific experiences owners mention include a quick vaccination appointment for a cat to reduce stress, antibiotics prescribed for a rabbit with sneezing that improved within days, and a surgical procedure arranged at the practice after an unexpected blood-test result, with repeated explanations and regular updates.
There is also a clear split in experiences: several reviews describe compassionate support, including end-of-life euthanasia care for a dog, while one reviewer reports a serious concern about a new vet’s handling of a cat (limited examination due to hissing and no eye drops given).

I’m fed up of rip-off corporate vets, so my sister recommended Tees Vets at Yarm who are independent. Easy to find and plenty of parking at the time I went (4:30pm appointment). I took my cat for his second vaccination and we were in and out quickly, which was great for keeping his stress levels down. I don’t think he even knew he had been injected.

Drew & Chris our house free roam bunny vets. Vincent had a little check up, with him sneezing & Drew gave him some anti biotics , few days & Vincent back to himself. Not expensive and very friendly & professional vets we highly recommend to all our business clients & family & friends

Tees Vets have always been excellent with our dog. But the service at the end of her life was excellent. The first dog I have had put to sleep, something I have dreaded. But Tees Vets made the process less upsetting than I thought it would be. Thanks for your service, I assume it is a part of the job they hate.

Always had excellent care for my cats with Drew, but they have a new lady vet who is letting the place down. Said our cat had conjunctivitis and refused to take her out of cage to examine as she was hissing. Just gave painkillers. No eyedrops. My cat had to be seen elsewhere as went blind and ended up having stage 4 cancer and being put to sleep. Within weeks.

Always a lovely vet surgery to attend. All my animals get the best care, and attention that they need. Richard is an amazing vet.. highly recommend. Nursing staff lovely. Receptionist always friendly. Prices are very reasonable for medication also, and consultation fees.

Despite a surprise diagnosis after a routine blood test of a not all that common complaint in dogs. Richard clearly explained our options. We decided to try the surgery and he was able to organise this at the practice rather than having to be referred. Although Peppa is never going to like visits to the vets the surgery went perfectly and she surprised us with how quickly she bounced back to full recovery. Throughout we were kept informed and Richard was happy to go over things several times as we didn’t always take things in straight away.
