I have taken all my dogs to Millcroft since they first set up the business some 30years ago.. I have always found there service to be exemplary. However this time i needed a lump removed from my old dogs foot. I was asked at the time of booking the appointment do i want the lump once removed sent to the lab. I said no as he is getting old and i would not put him through chemotherapy if it was found to be malignant. When i went to pick him up after it had been removed i asked the vet what it was, expecting a reply like a tumour, a fatty lump or a cyst etc. The reply i got was as i chose not to send it to the lab they didn't know what it was. I would have expected a trained vet to be able to identify a fatty lump or cyst or even a tumour. I fully appreciate without sending a tumour to the lab they would not be able to identify if it was malignant or not. I felt that the issue with me not sending it to the lab was a bigger issue than his health. They were fully aware of what to charge me though when they took £380 off me. As i said i have used Millcroft for in the region of 30 years but today i feel like i was brushed off due to not sending the item to the lab.

Bessie was well cared for by a vetinary nurse. We were given lots of information before the procedure and good follow up information. Everything went well and Bessie is recovering well. Many thanks to the team

Been with this vets for a while now and it’s absolutely fabulous. I have senior monthly pet care and I am so happy with it. The reception staff are always super friendly, as are all of the team on the floor. The vets have been really amazing too. You really feel like they care so much.

Great service. Very easy to make an appointment and the reception staff are very helpful. Location and parking facilities are great. The vet seeing my cat was also very helpful and caring. Would highly recommend.

Milo had a back paw problem (over active 3yr old labrador) , called in to ask for advice from the lovely receptionists. Milo has a lifetime plan with this practice and he was booked in within half hour to be seen. Full examination of him and my other concerns and given recommended treatment and follow up advice. Couldn't recommend this practice enough. Good service, great attitudes and communications. Never had a bad experience here.

Absolute shambles. Was quoted for my dogs operation so I gave the go ahead and when I went to collect him the following morning the bill had increased nearly £250. As the bill was quite hefty and out the blue I was told to pay the full amount on the spot or overnight charges will be applied until I have paid in full. (Luckily, despite the shock of the final bill I was able to pay in full) had this been someone in a less fortunate position, I couldn’t imagine how much stress that this attitude could have on someone. Fast forward 5 months and I received an email saying I was to find an alternative vets within 7 days due to an outstanding bill of £41… yea £41. I never once received a paper copy in the post. I was away when they called me so was unable to pay said bill until I returned home. My trip never went to plan so I ended up in hospital for some time. When I got home and started sifting through emails that’s where I seen I was no longer allowed in Millcroft. I explained this when I went to settle the bill and not a single morsel of compassion or understanding was shown. If this is how they treat the owner how are they treating your pet? Another thing to add was that not all stitches were removed following the post op appointment and caused discomfort to my dog which I then had to pay extra for a different vets to remove the remaining stitches. I’m sure this falls under malpractice and/or negligence. The attitude and looks me and my partner received as we are a same sex couple also made us uncomfortable. If you want the best for you and your pet I would avoid at all costs.

Professional, caring, very friendly Nurse and Staff. Would highly recommend. Vets are brilliant too, especially when I my 18.5 year old cat passed on the journey to the Vets, they were so kind, patient, understanding and in no rush at all to end the emergency appt. The Vet could also remember he'd seen Thomas last time and how well he was. I've now got a 19 week old ragdoll kitten Tillie and they've been brilliant with her ❤️
