The vets at Island Equine have saved my horse’s life not once, but twice. Their fast response time, thorough examinations, and decisive action made all the difference getting my horse to the nearest equine hospital quickly, where he was able to undergo the life-saving colic surgery he needed. The post-op care from Island Equine has been just as great. Their attentiveness, clear communication, and guidance through multiple complications has given me confidence during a very stressful time. I am incredibly grateful for the care and expertise of Dr. Chris, Dr. Danielle, and Dr. Katie.

He helped me make a decision honestly and with information on whether to buy her which was a big deal because she is my first horse. She has been in perfect health since I got her and is above and beyond what I could have hoped for her. Whenever Dr Ernst is at the barn I like to hang around during his assessments and treatments and learn.

Great folks! Vets and office staff are all top notch! Thoughtful and compassionate care. We have had some serious emergencies recently with our senior draft horse and the entire staff pulled together for us like they were family. Such a strong core knowledge base really calmed me when we were in some serious situations and my big boy is all the better for it.

I have used Dr. Katie and Dr. Ernst for years, they are excellent! They have treated my horse for everything from colic to uveitis to ulcers to stitches and lameness evaluations. Unfortunately we have been a frequent flyer. They are always on time (unless the clinic notifies me they are tied up at an emergency) and always professional. I trust their judgement wholeheartedly!

Dr. Marsh took care of our mare when she had a farrier nail lodged in her hoof. His calm, professional demeanor put us at ease. He explained in detail the risks of the injury and his treatment plan. He even stayed with me to show how to soak her foot. I cannot thank him and Edisto Equine enough for handling this emergency so professionally.

Well while Cloudy and Hattie do NOT like to get their shots and treatments, they do appreciate the great work that Edisto does to keep them healthy. When I bought Cloudy and then Callie back in 2001, I said to my friend oh no, where will I find a good equine vet? Wendi Wagnon said John Malark. She was totally right. John saved my friend's horse, Reason, when we hauled him there in middle of night in 2006. Got to have a great surgeon when you own horses!
