Vets Now (Staines)

We took our rat to this emergency vet after he suddenly became very unwell, struggling to walk and falling over. The vet spent approximately two minutes with him, only gave him oxygen and then immediately recommended euthanasia, asking if we wanted to say goodbye. When we went in, our rat was cleaning himself, yawning and looking much better. The vet was sat typing away, showing no sympathy while we were saying goodbye to our beloved pet. We asked if he was in pain, and she said no. We then had to ask for antibiotics and to treat him at home. She even walked away while we were asking a question and made us feel as though we weren’t capable of caring for our own rat. We ended up taking him to another vet and was very disappointed that they told us to put him down after finding out he had a respiratory infection and is now doing a lot better ! I will never be coming back !! You pay 160 for a consultation I didn’t even get because Venita cared to much about getting us out of the door for higher paying customers!

The worst vet practice in the region! This review is for VETS NOW not the Willet House staff. Vets Now have no reception staff. The reception staff from Willett House were pleasant. However when they finished for the day and the vet was nowhere to be seen, I was left on my own in the empty reception with no one around and the main door being locked up. If any emergency I would actually have to break the window to get out. They are also thieves, as there is no way they can justify £350 for 5 min visit. The fact they have a whole web-page dedicated for the excuses why they are extorting so much money out of people if laughable. I could understand if they would double or triple the cost per visit out of hours. But to charge 5 times for what the normal rate is clear extortion. If the day practice can afford to run the business by charging around £60 for a visit, surely you can by charging double or triple. They have tried to extort more money from me as well!!! They have tried charing me EXTREA £35 just to submit papers to the insurer. I said I will do it myself and now for the past 2 weeks they have refused to communicate with my insurer to validate the claim!!!!! Vicious. So will be coming to you on Saturday to have that done and I am NOT paying you to validate this claim!!! THIS should be for sure included in the cost of Emergency visit. SHAME ON YOU!

Very disappointed with the care me and my dog received at this vet’s, my dog was collapsing and shaking and we got left in reception for a good half hour. Then once seen by the vet, she said my dog needed to stay in over night but because I didn’t have £1500 there and then to pay she was like well she can’t stay then, even thought I have insurance! They are all about the money and NOT the welfare of the animal. You are well and truly stuck thought if your pet is poorly out of hours, as it seems to be the only place open for out of hours care - I say care very lightly!

Excellent out of hours emergency vet was very knowledgeable and thorough. Took superb care of our very poorly Rottweiler.

The service itself was fine but because it was out of hours it cost £340. That is insane. Veterinary practices are operating as a cartel. The Government needs to step in and prices need to be regulated.

Good emergency care but extortionate price! Consultation for my cat was perhaps 10 minutes with the vet and an anti-nausea injection, £435 !!! I understand running an emergency service will be more expensive but really, this much!

We cannot thank Vets Now Staines, enough. Fantastic level of care for our Cat Henry. The process for the insurance claim is also very easy. It was also very easy to find and parking is on site.
