Selby Vets4Pets Ltd is part of the Vets4Pets chain (the clinic branding and website content are Vets4Pets). Based on reviews, the practice is frequently used for routine pet healthcare and repeat medications, with the team sometimes fitting pets in at short notice (for example, an end‑of‑day appointment for a dog’s large abscess, and a same‑day fast‑tracked flea/worm prescription when a household health risk was explained).
However, a small number of reviews describe problems with communication and medication/prescription processes—specifically, not being clearly told why a flea/worm product was changed, not being given clear dosing instructions at collection, and frustration about being asked to book a paid consultation or have blood tests before repeats.

Due to it been 24 hours away from New Year were told with the back log it could take 7 days to receive my Shnauzers flea and worm tablets. After mentioning my daughter takes immunospressents for a transplant and we worry about infections the prescription was fast tracked and I received the medication the same day. Thank you so much Team Vets for Pets Selby. You are always so happy and helpful when I call and speak with you. Last year you fitted me in at the end of the day so my dogs huge abcess could be treated. Nothig is ever to much trouble for your team. Thank you for been amazing with our pets - Happy 2026 and very best wishes!

Rang to see if they could help with my reptile however they advised they do not have certificates to look after exotic pets. They were super helpful in giving me general advice on where to look for assistance with my bearded dragon. Thank you so much to Caitlin Who was super helpful.

Lovely receptionists & vets, first time I came had a bit of an unwarrwnted whinge as I didnt realise there was a problem with the computer system, despite me being a pain they were still lovely to me that day and every single appointment since. Many apologies to the team and a huge thanks for always being brilliant with our cats. Wouldn't hesitate to bring any other pets here, fantastic 👏

I am really upset that when I went to pick up my cat’s worm & flea treatment it wasn’t explained to me why there was a change in her medication. Apparently, Bravecto flea & worming treatment carries the following guidance: The FDA has stated that neurologic adverse events, such as tremors, loss of coordination (ataxia), and seizures are possible with this medication. This Bravecto for cats warning applies not only to cats but also extends to dogs treated with flea and tick medications like Bravecto. When I rang the surgery earlier today to ask why the Bravecto medication has been changed from a ‘spot-on’ to a now chewable tablet called Credelio (to be administered 1 per month), in conjunction with milprazon (1 per 3 months) there wasn’t any clear transparency as to the change in medication. I certainly wasn’t advised of the possible risk factors involved in administering Bravecto to my cat. I was told the change was for ‘environmental’ reasons! I just wish there had been a level of transparency & I would actually, have supported the change in medication. Crucially though, when I picked up the medication there was no explanation on administering it & potentially? I could have given the tablets to be taken monthly (I was given 3) in one dose! I really hope the team take my comments on board as all I want? Is for my 12 year old feline to remain flea & worm free & healthy.

AVOID........they just to bleed as much money as they can out of you. Ive tried for over a year to get a repeat prescription and every month I'm told he either needs a consultation £50 or a blood test £160 first. I asked for antibiotics for his teeth infection...nothing. I asked for help with his arthritis. nothing...Ive changed vets now the 1st thing they did is a course of antibiotics and Librella for his arthritis, hes now running around like a puppy again even though they said he would be dead by now..... I guess the vets are on commision/bonus.

Fantastic team, really amazing customer service and extremely accommodating. The care my cat’s received is excellent, and the nurses and vets are so patient and lovely. The team go above and beyond to keep you informed, and are so helpful in getting quick appointments in when needed.
