Out of hours vets are always costly but they saved my guinea pig's life. She had a severe and sudden case of bloat and without help would almost certainly have not survived the night. The vet had an immediate willingness to consider every possible approach and we were given time after a painkilling injection to see the effect it had, not just sent away with a "wait and see" approach until it became obvious her gut had not twisted. It's been a rough couple of days of little sleep but she's a long way on the road to full recovery now.
Last Saturday, my 3 and a half years old tortoise Arthur was acting lethargic and panting which is really odd behaviour for him. I phoned Vets Now and was told I could take him straight to a local veterinary practice to be seen by a vet. I was told there could be a wait, however when we got there, no one else was waiting so Arthur was taken immediately to see the vet. I must say that by the time we got there he was acting much more normal and looking round. The vet checked him over and gave him some oxygen and he was fine. She advised me to keep a close eye on him and take him back if I was at all worried about him.
The staff members I came across were efficient, kind and friendly. A very efficient service.

My Izzy was treated very well as was I. The outcome was bad but I felt that all the people who dealt with me were truly sympathetic.
If I could give 0 stars I would, I visited this vet on a Sunday afternoon with the family dog. Before attending I had explained to the vet that my dog did not like anything on or around his neck and the wounds were in that area so even if he would've allowed we couldn't of used a collar or a harness anyhow. On arrival they asked us to put him on the scales , he was just excited to be there so wouldn't stay still (emanuel stated he was being uncooperative) . Then a member of staff came in and ambushed him with a lead so he went scatty (as stated he didn't like them) the vet emanuel was abrupt and rude telling us we had to pin our dog down by his neck to then say in another breath that they don't deal with skin issues . He didn't look at the area or at my dog to be fair he stood back with his hands up said he would give us a cream and that was that!! They still had the cheek to charge me £302.50 for the consultation fee he did nothing for my dog and I had the privilege of paying a further 77£ for the cream , why give a cream If he doesn't know what he is treating?? All after hours vets are the same just bothered about the ££££ didn't care about my dog and the pain he was in . One of the ladies was lovely tried to advise us on how to train him to like a collar and lead again but needless to say I'll never take my dog to them again !! I then had to take my dog to my vets on the Monday, he said straight away he had an allergic reaction and prescribed him with 2 lots of medications it cost me £91 after hours vets a just greedy . I would pay anything to help my dog but 302.50 for a consultation that didn't happen. I have also put a complaint in regarding the vet .

Fantastic service really put my mind at rest with my fur baby, yes it had a cost (which we expect with it being out of hour emergency) yes there was a waiting time (understandable due to the time) was great waitj daidy and us pure privacy with out consulatation and sp much reassurance. Only down side i would say is (luckly we could pay) they didnt ask of we could afford to pay and quote 5.4 of the policy. On the ohine we was asked to bring id (wasnt asked for) but could pote tially asked for the rest of the requirement within the requirement shoudl people be in financial difficulty

Vet and nurses were fabulous. We were greeted on arrival, asked to sit and wait, although not for long, my dog was stressed and i took it on myself to sit in one of the empty treatment rooms. The nurse came to find us and didn't mind us sitting in the other room whilst waiting. The nurse took details and the vet was finishing up in surgery but came out as soon as she could to see to my dog. The vet attempted to help my dog to give birth naturally but she ended up needing an emergency c section. The vet had to see to x2 other animals prior to operating which made me feel anxious as baby was breech. I called an hour later and was told x2 puppies had just been delivered safely. Unfortunately my dog brought up fluids when moved from one room to another where the tube had dislodged. The vet explained this and told us what to look out for. Both puppies were born safely and mother and puppies were home within a few hours. Unfotunately i didn"t have a box with me that i could put the puppies in whilst travelling home but a friendly customer gave us her dogs blanket and we put that inside a bag for life for safe travels. All staff were wondeful. I can't fault the team but the cost was much more than I thought it would have been- there was no option of a payment plan but i literally paid my last penny to ensure my dog and her puppies could get the best care possible, and that they did! My dog has a post-op appointment at our local vet today and I'm sure they will be happy with the surgery- such a clean and tidy wound. Thank you- I will be returning the towel they wrapped my dog in and if they need any bedding donated, I love to crochet and knit and would like to contribute if allowed.
Fantastic vets my only problem is the price off out off hrs is awful price 360 to see a vet think they have to lower prices definitely awful but apart from that Fantastic experience
