Myron (vet): Mentioned repeatedly by name. Owners describe him as very direct and “old school” in communication—focused on stating facts and helping people make decisions, including difficult ones. Examples include explaining situations without “false hope,” keeping owners informed, and performing a C‑section that the reviewer says was completed without complications.
A contrasting experience is described by one reviewer who felt he dismissed the risk of complications in a singleton pregnancy and did not recommend monitoring or an elective C‑section early enough.

After using this vets for a number of years I feel really sad and let down to be writing this review. I took my small chihuahua dog on 3rd Nov for a health check and explained she was pregnant with 1 pup i had 2 scans done and the lady said the pup was quite a size and to visit my vet and explain the situation of a 🚩SINGLETON PUP 🚩she said he might suggest an elective C Section to ensure a safe arrival. On my visit I explained I was new to this as this was her 1st and going to be her only pregnancy we were going to keep the pup for ourselves. Myron said no he didn't do this as he said most dogs give birth without complications just to go home your about to have a learning curve keep researching looking online videos etc. He asked why 2 scans as sometimes they're wrong and there might be 2 or 3 pups in there and lots of water don't feed her too much this week. She went into labour the week after but there was no active pushes and all of the research Myron told me to do none of it was really applicable was all very confusing( he said call vet if pushes last longer than 30 minutes and no pup . None of this really happened other than a little restlessness and then back to normal and was ok lying down again and as her due / average date wasn't until about 5 days later I was a little anxious but then didn't notice a problem because i hadn't had the experience before but i now know this was because with only 1 pup my dog wasn't getting the oxytocin to give her the signs she needed for her pushes to start. On the Mon 10th November we took her into the practice to see if pup was ok my dog seemed well in herself. Myron examined her was asking me about mating dates etc. he did an internal examination which revealed the placenta had come away and pup was probably dead and he'd have to open our dog up as he put it !!!!! We were obviously devasted and still are . The only thing I do thank Myron for is successfully performing the C section without complications as my little dog could have also died . 🚩Well most dogs don't have complications scans can be wrong 🚩well my dog did have complications and scans were right . So So sad she had to have C section only to remove dead pup where I feel if more care had been taken on my visit the previous week and I'd been listened to a bit more and perhaps had been told to make another appointment to monitor the situation this could have been avoided ( although Myron now says that i was told to phone practice if I was worried this is just the point I wasn't worried as this was not a normal situation but it had been clearly predicted by the lady who performed the scans for me I just don't know how Myron didn't pick up also on this . Devasted doesn't come close . I don't suppose the village vets are bothered as they have plenty of other clients. Also Myron has said I also had time to source another vet if I wasn't happy with what he'd said I didn't think I needed another vet as I trusted his judgement at that point. I really wouldn't have thought I'd needed another vet as he's got tons of experience i even thought the scan lady might be wrong as he's the vet and more qualified. Such a sad and devasting experience 😢 after using him for many years we feel so let down .

First visit here for Lara after recommendations. What a lovely practice vet was great with my nervous dog and took time to explain medication . Totally different experience than going to a franchise vets that are just out for one thing. 5⭐ well deserved

We have used Myron for three dogs now, over the last 20 years or so. He is a wonderful man, compassionate, honest and genuinely does his best for the animals in his care. I wouldn’t use another vet. The staff in the surgery are just lovely, kind and caring.

Myron is quite simply amazing and rare! If you want a vet to comfort you, sugarcoat things and take you for every penny then go elsewhere..... he's not a human counsellor! However, if you want a vet who tells you the truth, has a wealth of experience, genuinely cares for the animals rather than the profit, states facts so you can make decisions and keeps you informed...... then look no further! Been with him for years now and love his absolute truth. I always come away from every appointment feeling totally informed of the truth and confident of my decisions. He never gives false hope but helps you make painful decisions aware of all of the facts. I honestly don't know what I'll do when he eventually retires as I really believe that he is unique in the current world.... an old school vet in a money orientated world. My dog is booked in for an operation tomorrow and it's touch and go if she'll survive but no matter what the outcome is I thank Myron from the bottom of my heart for telling me the truth and helping me reach a decision I'm at peace with.

Since moving to Cramlington in 2004 I have been using The Village Veterinary Centre for my cats. I've had 4 cats over the years registered at this practise and wouldn't go anywhere else. The team are so kind, compassionate and caring and it's obvious that they are doing the best for the animals in their care. I recently had to take a neighbours cat to a different vets for them and got to experience a different practice and I can 100% say that the experience at The Village Veterinary Vets outshone the other one. Even when I have had to say goodbye to one of my beloved cats they have been compassionate and given me the time I needed. I would recommend them if you are looking for a vet that is reasonably priced, caring and clean.
